The Hymnal Plus HT-400 is considered to be the ultimate Christian worship music solution.

The extensive features contained within the Hymnal Plus HT-400 are both comprehensive and practical. The system has been designed and built to facilitate the requirements of either small or large church services or events. Our professional musicians have recorded thousands of traditional hymns and modern worship songs.

In addition to the thousands of hymn tunes included, we have ensured that the newly designed HT-400 takes music accompaniment for worship to a whole new level. With hundreds of advanced preset musical styles added, the purpose-designed sounds include superb Pipe Organ combinations, stunning Acoustic Piano, rich Orchestra Strings and exciting Drum tracks.

WHY EVERY CHURCH SHOULD HAVE THE HYMNAL PLUS HT-400?

Our church clients cover many Christian denominations. Worship music is an expression of the Church's response to God, and here at Hymn Technology our church clients assure us that the system is an essential part of their ministry.

Simply connect your new Hymnal Plus HT-400 to a suitable amplification system and, like so many others, you will be amazed at the sound quality.

SIMPLE 4 STEP OPERATION

1. Plug it in and turn it on

2. Press the PLAY tab

3. Select your hymn or key in the hymn number and press ACCEPT

4. Press START to play the music

You can easily change the number of verses, add an introduction, change the speed or pitch and alter the length of pause between verses. These simple functions exemplify the design ethos of the HT-400; to provide good-quality music for congregational accompaniment that can be easily adjusted to suit the singing style of each congregation. Try doing that with CDs, mp3 files or audio-visual downloads!

Our existing Hymnal Plus users are delighted with our easy-to-follow, step-by-step instruction manual. It doesn't contain jargon and it couldn't be simpler to use.

LCD TOUCH SCREEN

The 7" colour, capacitive touch screen is back-lit so it can be used even in darkness. The user is led, through simple prompts, to do things such as select a hymn or create a playlist for a service.

The Tiresias font is used for all text throughout the user interface. Developed for the Royal National Institute for the Blind, the Tiresias font is used for all UK TV subtitling and provides impressive legibility. (It is also used for the labelling of the connectors on the back of the unit and all labelling on the supplied infrared remote handset.)

MUSICAL STYLES

The HT-400 is created to accompany the singing of all categories of worship music. Choose from hundreds of preset musical styles – from basic piano or organ to a full orchestra or worship band. For ease of use, the preset styles are divided into four lists:

Organ - The 36 preset organ styles range from simple, gentle pipe organ sounds to the full swelling sound of a thundering cathedral organ. Gospel organs with slow and fast rotating speaker effects are included.

Orchestral - Piano, harpsichord, orchestral strings, together with the full range of orchestral and band instruments.

Combination – A mix of instruments such as brass band, piano with orchestral strings, pipe organ with orchestra, string and woodwind quartets etc.

Rhythmic – A mix of instruments with drum rhythms: marching bands, contemporary music groups, calypso bands etc.

You can also add an impressive drum track to any style of your choice - there are 98 rhythms to choose from.

PLAYLISTS

Using the Playlist feature you can plan and store all the music for services and other events in advance. It is quick and easy to change or rearrange your Playlists. You can store up to 999 Playlists, with no limit to the number of items (including your own MIDI and MP3 files)in a Playlist. You can even incorporate PDF files to display images, texts and messages via a connected projector or monitor.

If desired, specific styles can be pre-selected for the introduction and each verse of a hymn and stored in the playlist. Those styles will then be automatically applied as that hymn is played.

YOUR OWN BOOK INDEX

To make things even more flexible the new OurBook feature lets you create your own sub-list of songs from the vast repertoire of the Hymnal Plus. Whether you want to create a numbered index to another hymn book or your church has its own favourite collection of songs compiled over the years, you can easily add them to your own numbered list for future use. You can even share your OurBook within the community of HT-400 owners if you choose.

HYMN SEARCH

To keep things quick and simple the HT-400 has a powerful built-in search engine. This enables you to find what you want from its vast database (the Master Index), or just search within one of the book indexes. Enter text using the on-screen keyboard or connect the optional qwerty typing keyboard. You can quickly audition search results one by one.

HUMANISE

The Hymnal Plus doesn't play wrong notes and has machine-timing accuracy. This makes it more precise than a human. If  you prefer a little more character, the new Humanise feature enables you easily to introduce subtle amounts of performance inaccuracy to the playback, to mimic a real musician. Don’t worry, you can’t ruin it – and it still won’t play wrong notes!

INTERNAL SPEAKER

The HT-400 features a built-in stereo amplifier and speakers (10 watts per channel), useful for personal monitoring (e.g. when preparing playlists) or even for use in outreach. Used alone, the HT-400 automatically processes the sound to maximise the performance of the internal audio system.

VIDEO

The HT-400 is supplied with both digital and analog* video output as standard via its DVI-I video output port. Although the main purpose of the Hymnal Plus is to accompany congregational singing, there are many resources available for the subtle enhancement of services with visual elements including the display of song lyrics - and the HT-400 enables you to incoporate these visual elements into your services.

To display song lyrics during a service to a projector/monitor screen, save your lyrics as PDF files on a Windows PC and copy them onto the Hymnal Plus SD memory card. You can link a PDF file to any piece of music in the repertoire and (with some very basic text formatting) the Hymnal Plus will display your song lyrics automatically as it plays the music, showing a verse (or chorus) at a time.  You can also display any other static visual items in PDF format.

*Requires simple adaptor.

REMOTE CONTROL HANDSET

A fully-featured remote control infra-red handset is supplied with the HT-400. This can be very useful, particularly when the worship leader is also the HT-400 operator. Each function is clearly labelled and, the following selections can be made at the touch of a button:

8 preset organ styles.

8 preset orchestral and combination styles.

8 of your own choice. Choose any 8 from the HT-400's range of 246 preset styles, or any of your own personal styles.

RF REMOTE CONTROL

The HT-400 RF Remote feature enables the HT-400 to be controlled from most desktop PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones, as long as they have Wi-Fi functionality and a web browser app installed.

A direct radio frequency (RF) wireless connection is created between the remote device (e.g. laptop) and the HT-400, so no internet connection (Wi-Fi or wired) is required.

The HT-400 has a 7” touchscreen and so, for a remote device to be realistically usable, we recommend one with a minimum 7” screen. You can connect a smartphone to the HT-400 but its screen will most likely be smaller and of a peculiar aspect ratio so you won’t be able to see all of the HT-400 screen at one time (although you can swipe the phone screen to move the visible area around).

Once connected, the remote device will display a copy of the HT-400 screen and can be used to control the HT-400 in the same manner. The RF Remote feature is designed for remote control of the HT-400 during a service and most features are available remotely, except for more-involved functions like creating/editing playlists and user styles.

The RF connection is two-way, so activating buttons on the remote screen will control the HT-400 and update both screen displays accordingly – while pressing buttons on the HT-400 screen will work as normal while also updating the remote screen display accordingly.

VESA-COMPATIBLE MOUNT

The HT-400 has built-in folding legs for desktop use, however, the back of the unit has a 75mm VESA-compatible mount. VESA is the standard mounting system used for flat-screen TVs, so a huge variety of mounts is readily available - everything from floor stands to wall-mounted fixed or swing-arm brackets and quick-release adaptors.

From a single pipe organ to a full orchestra, from well-loved standards to modern rock, in a room, a hall,  or a church - the HT-400 will perform beautifully time after time.
